Chelsea FC honoured at the London Venue and Catering Awards
It was a successful night for Chelsea’s Meetings and Events division at the London Venue and Catering awards 2021, as we won Bronze in the Best Client Support During Covid-19 category and took home another Bronze for Best Venue Leadership During Covid-19.
Held on Friday 19 November at the Kia Oval, the awards evening consisted of a celebration dinner, including drinks reception, 3 course banquet and awards ceremony.
Now in their sixth year, the London Venue and Catering awards recognise and reward achievement and adaptability in London-based venues and catering companies. The ceremony saluted and championed the resilience and flexibility shown by an industry that’s faced its toughest year in living memory.
Lucy Adamson, Senior Meetings and Events Manager said ‘After 16 months away from live events we were thrilled to not only attend an awards event but to also be nominated and then win a double! It felt like a great sense of achievement. Our area of the business suffered immensely during the pandemic; we lost all our booked events in a matter of weeks. We worked hard to keep connected to our clients, amending contracts, menus, service style and putting all the COVID protocols in place to ensure clients felt confident to return to the venue. Our ReConnect event was an example of how we managed to pull everything together to showcase live and virtual events once we allowed to do so again. We are going from strength to strength. It’s a team effort by the entire venue to deliver events so these award wins should make everyone very proud.’
