Chelsea Football Club’s meeting and events division has been shortlisted for two awards at the prestigious London Venue and Catering awards for their pioneering hybrid event, Reconnect.
Held in May 2021, Reconnect saw industry leaders join together, both virtually with interactive polls and in-person with a live audience, to discuss how best to get the Events Industry back on its feet.
Chaired by Conference News editor Martin Fullard, the panel debated the core issues and covered how our £84bn sector can successfully emerge from Covid-19. The event received high praise and turn out and provided the basis for the two award nominations.
Chelsea FC have been shortlisted for the Best Client Support During COVID-19 and Best Venue Leadership during COVID-19 categories – a testament to the hard work of the meetings and events team.
Now in their sixth year, the London Venue and Catering awards recognise and reward achievement and adaptability in London-based venues and catering companies. The ceremony will salute and champion the resilience and flexibility shown by an industry that has faced its toughest year in living memory.
Lucy Adamson, Chelsea FC’s Meetings and Events Senior Manager said, ‘I am beyond thrilled to be recognised on the shortlist for both awards. After the most difficult period, ReConnect set out to bring industry leaders and colleagues together to discuss how we could continue to support our industry. The event was a huge success and cemented the hard work and dedication of the events industry. It is great to be back, and we are looking forward to a positive future’.
The London Venue and Catering awards are due to take place on the Friday 19 November 2021 at the Kia Oval, where the winners will be announced. To learn more about Events with Club Chelsea’s award-winning spaces, get in touch with the dedicated team: events.chelseafc.com/contact/
